Welcome to Kiv's personal website. As of Oct 2021, I have arrived in University of Liverpool, UK for my senior year study.
I became a remote student in 2020. Since then I have been moving around, working with some of the top-tier cloud database engineering teams in China – starting at PingCAP, then ByteDance and Alibaba Cloud. Currently I'm a sponsored mentee of the Linux Foundation, working on the feature of decentralized governance on Hyperledger.

- Choices are tough.
- Finally got settled in Liverpool! Took me literally 2 days to get used to what was online for the past year.
Sep. 2021
- I left Alibaba Cloud for now. It is likely that I'll return. Yeah, likely.
- For the rest of 2021, however, I'm going to focus all my momentum towards building my potential future overseas.

- If Prof. Andy Pavlo from CMU Database Group hasn't started that OtterTune project I would have failed the intern assessment XD
Jun. 2021
- Goodbye Beijing & the TikTok company (I was working on Larksuite though). Friends in BJ & ByteDance are wonderful. They made my summer .
- Something new is going to take place. "Back" in Hangzhou again. PS: PingCAP's new office seems to have opened. Worth a visit.
